Nanakuli Village Center Progress

Agnes Kalanihookaha Cope Learning Center

With a projected development cost of $20 million, this represents one phase in the overall "village center" project. Kamehameha Schools has agreed to fund its construction. It will consist of a two-story facility and a large banquet hall with a kitchen. And a Dance Floor?

"Nothing soothes the soul like a walk in the beach.
Live less out of habit and more out of intent."

On the first floor, Kamehameha Schools will have administrative offices and classrooms for various school programs. Classrooms will also be made periodically available to the Native Hawaiian Hospitality Association's Ola Hawaii instructional program geared to training people for employment at Disney's Aulani Hotel and Ko Olina,

"White Sandy Beach" by the Makaha Son of Niihau

On the second floor, there may be classrooms and offices for UH's Ho'o Kulaiwi teachers recruitment and training program, and the Waianae Coast Comprehensive Health Center's multi-learning center. Cope Center will provide a home for the Waianae Coast Culture and Arts Society, and a management and services office for NHHCA.

The proposed Business Park in Maili, put on hold by the Present Rail
Party. Hundreds of cars missing from the Freeways to and from
Honolulu. Hundreds missing from that horrible Downtown Traffic.
And "I coulda got home in 20 minutes."

We are gradually developing the Waianae Coast for the benefit of the residents not for the Ivory Towers in Honolulu. For the Present Rail Party it's always the bread, Fred. It's the money, Sonny, no matter who they hurt.

Pub's Side Note:
From the Rubaiyat by Omar Khayyam about 1000 years ago.
“The moving finger writes, and having writ moves on. Nor all your
piety or wit, shall lure it back to cancel half a line, nor all your
tears wash out a word of it.”
