Good News

Everything in my life ebbs and flows. There is certain rhythm that there is a time when I get my highs and of course time when I get the "odder kine."

"I ride the storm, maybe not cheering wildly, but I can gather strength
from the storm knowing that it will subside."

My connections on Nanakuli Super parking lot have been a little slow since my neice Yvonne and her daughter Bridgit left but I expected it. Then my entire blogosphere has been going down in hits.  My plantar faciliitis on my left foot has been worse and I have difficulty walking. Wow!

Then, I finally made contact with the VA for an appointment next month with a podiatrist. I got on the Internet and got a few hints which seem to be working out to that I can walk a little less painfully. It is looking better this week.

"My Way" ... Frank Sinatra

I got a good photo at Napa, and a nice write up for a blog, and they are sure nice people. Then this Saturday, I got some good photos of the church volunteers next door and made a nice blog and the hits are going up.

So things were looking better, then today I received an email from my neice Yvonne and it not only made my day, but the rest of the month. I have been cutting down on my drinking, for medical reasons, but today, I am going to have a Rum and Coke. With that nice email, I want to tell everyone, I deserve it.

"Grant that I may bring no tear to any eye - When this year in time shall end -
Let it be said I've played the friend, - Have lived and loved and labored here, -
And made of it a happy year for all."

Wake Up

Woke up to the usual noise of workers on Saturday morning. The volunteer workers on the church building. I took my time working on my emails, house chores, breakfast and had nice morning.
"Who can suffer while roses bloom? - Don't dream it, be it -
My happiness depends on me."

I wanted to get a photo of the Malasadas but they were not there. Perhaps they will be there tomorrow. Being on the bike because I have difficulty walking, I rode around to the church and I took a few photos there. A nice lady there too pounding away with a hammer.

Work for the Lord. The pay isn't much but the retirement is out of this world.

Went back home and came back about Kau Kau time and Ernest explained to me about some new action in the plumbing. I hope he can get somebody to write it up for me to publish in the blog. Would be of interest not only to the church people but also to the vicinity.

But I got a photo of the table, a feast for a King, and Queen.

Alma, Ernest, JP, Larry, John and Terri

I have got to confer with somebody to help me donate my old computer to someone that needs it and can really use it. It is still in good working condition and it has Vista Operating System. My new computer has Windows 7 which is not that much better but I already have it.

Napa is still rolling

I dropped in at the Mobile phones yesterday Monday and talked to somebody there about getting the best picture. It would be today about 2:00 P.M.

"We all live under the same sky, but we do not all have the same horizon."

My feet still giving me trouble but I can move slowly, if painfully. Lucky I can ride the bike just fine. But today, different personnel at the place, and they seem a little too "Rootzi-Tootzi" for a common blog. But I always like to say, "The decision was theirs," I don't try to exclude anyone.

Then I went over to Napa Auto Parts, and you cannot find a friendlier bunch of people. My luck changed for the better. You have to meet them too.

Natasha, Cindy and Rene. In back: Stephen and Donald.

Welcome Nanakuli Committee

Come visit us for all your automotive needs. If we don't have it, we will try our best to get it for you. We do the leg work. Come and meet us, family owned and operated.

I was so happy I forgot to get my stuff at Sack N Save. Oh well, I will go later. Had some good emails, so that was nice. Got to work on this blog.

In an old peoples home: Feel your feelings. Cry when you need to. Laugh when you can. Eat when you are hungry. Sleep when you are tired. But don't just wait around to die, do something good for someone. This is going to be really weird at first, but embrace it. You haven't felt your feelings for a long time. You will have a learning curve.

Tuesday and I am still having my troubles walking. My Plantar Facilitis is  breaking out. I am waiting for notice from the VA to get an interview with a Podiatrist this week. I have tried the stretching exercises and it works for a while, then returns. I have tried to rest it and it works for a while, then returns. I just bought a night splint and it worked for a while then returned.

"Almost every comment on the blogs that we have received has proved interesting —
even if they’re critical, you want to engage with them. We get very little spam."

I took a nice walk to Sack N Save with my new heel cups and they seemed to work very nicely. A couple hours later, I got up from the computer and it was more painful than ever. For now I will rest it until Wednesday.

Meanwhile, next door to Stella's Hair Salon, I came across a new promotion office for Ben Cayetano and talked it over with a couple guys.

Got a photo naturally and I will have something more in here later. We should all know that the "Guv" Ben can run Honolulu a lot better than any of the others running for mayor. Also he is not beholden to any group$ to back up him in his run for Governor. "Been there, done that."

Photo on the right. Robert Ebanez and Duke Kiaaina, running the office. Quote from Robert, "Aloha No, from Ben Cayetano office."

The icing on the cake is that he cannot be bought by the Rail Billion$. He understands that Carlisle has just screwed up the bus system, something terrible. Does Carlisle "know" anything about that old lady that now has to ride the C bus from Waianae all the way to town, "standing up," the buses so crowded. Can he hear all the people thinking, "Man, when I get my car." Many are saying that out loud. How about the schools kids? They are not as dumb as he thinks.

"Somewhere Over The Rainbow" ... Iz

Those big shots don't understand any of that. They are just do as they are told by the Big Buck$. The poor people? "Let them eat cake."

"Ever notice how many people are mistaken at the top of their voice?
Now you've heard them."

Didja know you can register to vote by email. Use your head, Red. I would like to see Ben win with 90% of the vote. The others can split the rest. I am sure glad that Nanakuli is perking up in that. We are going to be careful with the "party of the rich."

The Church Keeps Moving

Woke up late Saturday morning and I could hear noises going on next door. I peeked out the window and sure enough the church volunteers were there.

"We can complain because the rose bushes have thorns
or we can rejoice because thorn bushes have roses."

I got on my computer to check my email. Not much there except a few million dollars I can have from West Africa someplace. Then got on my first blog Town Dancer. Finished that one up and looked down and yelled hello to one of the workers on the church second floor. Told him I would be down KauKau time.

The church cannot lose with these kind of people.

Finally went down before noon and got a couple fotos at random. I wanted to test my cameras. One did not work. I have to look into that. I am learning. So I made a collage of the two (above.) I am learning there too. Then I waited around to get a photo of the gang, with the names. Very necessary for the rest of the church members to know about these good people. Finally got them up front with the tools at hand.

Prayer of thanks:
Today was another blessed day. The body of Christ gathered today to serve an awesome God. We worked on building His foundation through fellowship and teamwork. The Lord is moving in miraculous ways and He is calling His people to gather together in one accord and it is awesome. "With God, All things are possible." Amen. - - Kalea Hussey

The 4th at Nanaikeola Senior Apartments.

Woke up late but took my time, got on the computer to check my emails and had a late breakfast. Did a little clean up on the apartment and the computer too. Took a shower and went down about 11:30.

"We all live under the same sky, but we don't all have the same horizons."

Already a nice crowd of the "early" birds. I checked to see if they needed anything I was going to Sack N Save and I would have gotten something. I took a couple pictures and left the cameras there and came upstairs to catch up on a few details.

I have to explain about the photos. They are all digital, that is, in the computer in "bits." No film, so I can always take an extra at no cost. I always take the best one. Now, anyone that wishes to get one of these photos can just right click it on your computer and save it wherever you wish. Then you can do whatever you wish to do with it. It's yours.

The Early Birds

Then went back downstairs, left a container to take something back later. Then went to Sack N Save and got a chocolate cake. Came back and most people already had already left. They had plenty food left, so I took some chicken and some salads.

I wasn't planning on eating until 3 or 4 but my salad tooth kept bothering me, so I warmed up a piece of chicken which was ono. Then I had some of the most delicious cole slaw and potato salad I have had in a long time. I can't believe I ate the whole thing. Went back down stairs and got another picture.

The Late Birds

Maybe next time I can stay a little longer and get a picture of the group in the middle time and then another one of the "late" birds. Of course, these social affairs are going to take some time to get going.

"The Coconut Tree" by Noelani Cypriano

Hopefully, the church people that are reading this will help me decide who to give the old computer too. Someone that is going to work it, maybe even get on the internet. Collecting dust is not the answer here.
