Nanakuli Ridge Looking Better.

Heard the noise at the church building next door and sure enough plenty volunteers. All helping out, taking the old donated  platforms apart and piling up all that good lumber for later use., I decided to get a couple photos of the workers.

As I walked in to the compound, I was pleasantly surprised that the young lady in the photo knew more or less who I was. I kept going, and got another photo from the other side.

Everybody busy working away. This church got a lot of nice members. Then at noon time, kau kau time and I went back over and we talked a little story and gave them some hats and a took a couple photos. Too many for names but we can get that next time. Six people in each photo would have been great and plenty room for the faces and names. Then I lost the photo.

Yes, this photo too dark and I am learning there too. Into the sun, not good.

Unfortunately, I still make too many mistakes with my cameras, simply because I don't know enough. Lucky, some of the young people there helped out a little. The last two pictures were in the other camera. So far, my biggest ongoing trouble is having good batteries. Then too, I didn't have the memory card and the last photo went into the internal memory which was not enough space and I lost my best ones.

We have a nice ongoing thing and there will be more photos.

someone believed that it could and someone willed that it would."

Got a nice write up from Jason:

C.F. J. Church and Community Center:

We invite you to fellowship and lend a hand every Saturday (except the 1st Saturday of the month) as we continue to build our church and community center. We look forward to meeting you. God Bless. Alma Ayau        by Jason Dela Cuadra

We will get together with the pastor and talk a little story and find the right  place for my old computer in July sometime.

We are at the first half of the year and the average hits per day are going up and I am pretty sure it is mostly people from the church. So I must be there the next time they have Sunday church meeting. I can take a a few photos and perhaps get a couple write ups from someone. That would be a nice blog to share with the rest of our community.

"The best place to start to get anyplace is where you happened to be."

When I first moved to Nanaikeola Senior Apartments the center of Nanakuli Ridge was pretty sure, right in front of Sack N Save. It has been pointed out to me that the center is now moving in our direction. Very nice and will make this blog more important.

First we have my place of residence which is on solid ground. I just have to make more contact here. Then I made contact with Kokua Mau and next door, Shelly's Hair Salon. Got some good write ups and I began the extension. Then went around to Nanakuli Super and they were not interested. I think they thought I was selling something.

But I met and got a photo of Jeffrey and Carla of the Ono Steak And Lobster. Then on a nice Sunday I made contact with Angelo's Malasadas. Also two others that sell some food and that seem to think I am selling something. I will have to be patient.

Then I also got some very nice people at the Napa Auto Parts. They seem to know what a blog is and I gave them some hats. They gave me a couple soccer balls in return. So I am working  on it. I am going back and try to get another photo.

I have taken some photos at the church meetings and they were very receptive. I  look forward to having them participate whenever they wish. There is where we are going to get the bulk of our hits to get the blog going.

Nevah happened!
The Homeless are solidying in the empty grounds behind us. They don't bother much and they seem to be getting a lot more young people. I am a little worried about the fires at night, but if they are extra careful, it may be OK. We have brush fires every year when it all gets very dry.

The big ones like American Savings and Sack N Save are very leary and don't know what my angle is. I don't blame them, salesmanship always has some kind of gimmick. And if they say it is free,  be very, very careful. So, what I do in this blog, and what our information contributors are going to do in this blog is for free. We will do it for our community. And it will take time for everyone to realize this.

Getting There Slowly

Nice Monday morning to get the week off and running. I was able to do most of my morning errands. Had to make my plans and I always have to rearrange according to my health. In this case my feet. But some of my health problems can be fixed and some cannot and I must accept. My stretching exercises some to be helping out. I always stop too soon.

"Readers get onto blogs when blogs provide an informational or entertainment value
that would be a loss if not read. Clear and Simple."

Fortunately I heard the guys working on the church building next door and I thought to get a photo. I got the camera and yelled to them to "hold it." Not the kind you can get with a good camera, but it will have to do.

Then, I had a couple of dance blogs to work on and blogging is a nice hobby of mine with most of its ramifications. Then at the end of the day, I spotted the Pau Hana ring of prayer, some pictures were being taken. They can Email them to me and I will blog'em. I was so intent to get the picture I got too close to the window screen.

Very unclear, but it got the screen clear, so I am learning. I will find out how to remove
the screen and get a better picture next time.

I have to make sure I get some photos of the next church gathering and perhaps get a nice write up from the pastor. Would make a nice blog for the church members and the rest of Nanakuli Ridge too. Perhaps we can get someone from the Church to become an information contributor.

Next I would like to get the Manager of Nanaikeola Senior Apartment to get on as Guest Author but blogger has not been able to get the invitation to her. Then after, ideally, would be someone from Kaiser Permanente since they deal with quite a few people from our community.

If we average eleven hits per day, we could run it up to 20 and that is equivalent to 600 hits a month which is good contact. Our people including me, still not sure what a blog is.

I have been cooling it for a while and hoping someone would communicate something. But unfortunately the residents of Nanakuli Ridge are not yet aware of what blogging is. That is alright, Rome was not built in a day. We can take our time, never been done before.

I will have to make plans on going out farther, and if I ignore someone, they must have ignored me first, so it should be understood. My hope is to include everyone, but they will make the ultimate decision. Got an email from my neice Yvonne who was here a couple weeks ago. Wish I could print it. Very nice.

I will now go South to the Chinese store and North as far as Kentucky Fried, and see where I can make contact and include them in. As long as they accept that I am helping we are just fine. This will take time. I also have some Guest Authors to invite. First one is Annette, Manager of the Nanaikeola Senior Apartments. Second will be someone from the church that is building next door. and Third will be someone from Kaiser Permanente.

With those three, the center of Nanakuli Ridge will be firmly established on Nanaikeola St. I will extend my picture taking and then of course, I will accept all emailed photos, send them in. For now this one will go without photos or posters, just plain so that all five readers will see the difference.
